Spring Chicks, ages 7-9

We used oil pastels on 17x22 inch card stock to draw these cute spring chicks.  The students used simple shapes; ovals, triangles, rectangles... to draw the chicks and then used short lines to make the fuzzy texture. They also made a nice shadow to separate the chicks.

I like to offer papercraft projects because they are colorful, a different way for the students to express themselves and they are fun.  Just look at all the ideas below! And most added decorated eggs shapes hanging from the bottom to turn them into mobiles.
