Ice Cream Cones, ages 7-9

I have some photo references of ice cream cones that we used for this step by step project. We talked about the simple shapes and how to divide and place the shapes on the 17x22 inch card stock.  Oil pastels worked great so that we could "mush" the colors together. Chocolate and strawberry were the flavors of the day!

Spring Chicks, ages 7-9

We used oil pastels on 17x22 inch card stock to draw these cute spring chicks.  The students used simple shapes; ovals, triangles, rectangles... to draw the chicks and then used short lines to make the fuzzy texture. They also made a nice shadow to separate the chicks.

Animals and Man, Teen class

We looked at some reference images of animals that had a human element and let our imaginations go wild. This is one of my favorite projects of the year! The students used ink (fine point sharpie) on 17 x 22 inch card stock.

Kinder Art- ages 5, 6, 7  

Students have fun using simple shapes to draw, paint and design. We will find inspiration from books and the world around.

Classes will explore drawing and painting techniques using a variety of materials and subject matter. Each session will be different. Supplies & snacks provided.

Exploring Animation - ages 7 - 10 and 10 - 14

         Session 1 -  $220, August 4 - 8, Monday - Friday

                                    Ages 7 - 10, 9-12 noon --- Ages 10 - 14, 1 to 4 pm

Students will be paired up to explore a variety of animation techniques incorporating sound, and green screen. My sons, Nick and Greg, who are studying animation with industry professionals in California, will be home to teach these classes and share their latest work. We will have a screening on the last day and DVD’s will be given to each student.
