The students picked two images to do in watercolor. We also talked about how to create patterns and then cut the images into slices and glued alternating... Love the before and afters!

Art Camp Session 3, Sunsets and Van Gogh color mixing
We looked at some examples of sunsets and talked about the color transitions. Then we looked at Van Gogh paintings and the texture and color of each part. When we use small "pieces" for each color the students get to slow down and think about color mixing. The beginning students did sunsets and the others moved on to more of a Van Gogh style.
Art Camp Session 3, Pop Art Posters
We talked about and looked at some examples of pop art by past and present artists. We focused on Peter Max and designed posters using things that we liked to tell our story. It was a nice way to get to know the students and also brighten our day.
