Happy Thanksgiving! - ages 7-9
We painted our backgrounds and then used some strips of paper to draw fall colored patterns. The strips were glued on the prepared paper to make turkey tails. This was a fun colorful project!
Panorama, teen class
Just a challenge for the teen class to work in a different format still thinking about composition.

State Maps- ages 10-12
I replaced my car atlas (yes I still use paper maps) and thought we could do an art project with the old one. Each student picked a state/place and modge podged it on to a board. Then they had to decide what they liked about each place and create a painting using the map as a background.

Friday Owl Project, ages 8-12
Sometimes I offer a friday evening class where we do a step by step project and eat pizza and just have a nice time after a long week at school.
This was one of the projects that I wanted to share. I got the inspiration online and each of the students made it their own. What fun!

4 Words, Teen class
This was a thoughtful project. The students wrote 5 adjectives on a small piece of paper and put them in a hat/box. Then we mixed them up and they each took turns picking one till they were all gone. They could throw one word away which would leave them with 4. They had 4, 5x7 inch wooden raised panels to paint what each word might feel like in an image... but the catch was to use a common theme. We had weather, rain, lightbulbs, silhouettes and arrows... I will post them as they finish but here is the beginning. Some of the words were stormy, loud, frenzy, luminous, hopeful, peaceful, mundane, utopian... Yes, this was a challenge with some great ideas in the end.
