Owls and Pumpkins- ages 8,9 and me

Here are just a few of the drippy black glue and watercolor owls that the younger class did. Such wonderful vibrant colors and great wet on wet watercolor technique with marker in the background of the sky.

Texture, Layers and Fun - Teen class

I am thrilled with the way these projects are turning out. The students looked at some examples of textured layered paintings and we talked about how interesting it is to put seemingly unrelated shapes together in a painting. The students chose subject, color/mood and backgrounds to include texture, color blocking, stamping and movement. Some used one canvas, some used a series of three. I am so happy to have a group of students that explore the project ideas and make it their own.

Fairy Dresses, age 8 -12

I saw a similar project online and thought I could modify the project for this class. The students took their time drawing and picking an environment for their fairy. We took 12x12 inch board and glued a background of scrapbook paper. Then the students chose papers to use for the dress and picked a color for the netting overlay. They used netting for the fairy wings and used different items to embellish their designs. This was a very popular project with the students.
